👻 The Legend of Our Ghost Kitty: A November Morning Visit

Some stories walk back into your life when you least expect them.

And some… pad quietly across your security cameras at 5:14 in the morning.

We’ve lived in these hills long enough to know the difference between a stray cat and something a little more—well—otherworldly. But this visitor? This one has a history with us.

Ghost Kitty showed up one chilly autumn morning last year, right on the edge of the woods. Grey and white. Same markings. Same gentle sway of the tail. Same little head tilt that once meant “Are you coming inside or not?”

We lost our original kitty years ago, and yet… here she was again.

Not in a way that makes your skin crawl, but in that soft, familiar, Appalachian way where the veil feels thinner and love sometimes loops back around.

This morning, before the sun even considered waking up, Ghost Kitty set off the cameras again. The air was cold enough to sting your lungs, and the trees stood perfectly still—as if they were holding their breath, waiting with me.

It wasn’t frightening. It wasn’t unsettling.

It was peaceful. A reminder. A whisper.

In these mountains, not everything that visits you asks to be explained. Some moments are just meant to be felt.

So here’s to chilly November dawns, quiet yards at the edge of the woods, and little spirits who stop by just to let you know they’re still keeping watch.

Until her next visit…

Stay spooky, friends. 🍂✨
