About Tibbi Ann

It’s nice to meet you.

I’m Tibbi Ann Hardix, a West Virginia–based author drawn to small towns, quiet moments, and the stories that linger just beneath the surface. My writing is rooted in Appalachian landscapes, folklore, and the subtle pull of the supernatural—where familiar places carry secrets, and ordinary lives brush up against something a little uncanny.

My debut novel, The Mystery of Cerise Falls, introduced readers to Brakesville, a town loosely inspired by my own hometown. Brakesville is the kind of place that never really leaves you—the roads, the people, the unspoken history. I suspect it will always find its way into my work in one form or another.

Beyond writing, I wear a few other hats. I’m a nurse, a mother, and an early-morning dream journaler, often capturing thoughts before the world fully wakes up. Those quiet hours—when the mind is tired but honest—are where many of my ideas take shape. I’m endlessly intrigued by the poetry hidden inside the exhausted human mind and how stories seem to surface when we slow down enough to listen.

I write mysteries, children’s stories, and folklore-inspired tales, often blending warmth with gentle eeriness. Whether a story is meant to comfort, unsettle, or simply keep you company for a while, my hope is It’s nice to meet you.
